Dear Laraway Families,

I hope this letter finds you and your family healthy and safe.   We are excited to provide the students with an in person remote learning opportunity here at Laraway School.  I want to take a moment to share some information with you that you will need, in order to prepare your student for their return to Laraway starting October 5^th.

Daily Schedule:  The students will continue to follow their remote learning daily schedule.  School will begin at 8:05 a.m. and end at 1:05 p.m.  Students will attend their daily Google classroom sessions with the same teacher(s) they have had since the start of the school year. 

Transportation: At this time, there are no changes in the morning transportation pick up times.  Students who are attending the in person remote learning will be picked up from the designated bus stop they were given to pick up their food and other materials.  Students should report to these bus stops before their designated pick up times to ensure that they do not miss the bus.  Students at the end of the day will begin to load the buses after 1:05 p.m. and will depart from Laraway no later than 1:10.   Student drop off time will vary.   Students who ride the bus will have assigned seats to ensure they are social distanced from each other.  Student will be required to have their temperature taken before they board the bus.  Any student who has a temperature over 100 degrees or anyone who is showing symptoms consistent with COVID 19 will not be allowed to enter the school bus and will be sent home.  While on the bus student will be required to wear their mask at all time and they will have access to hand sanitizer if they choose to use it.  Student who refuse to wear a mask or keep a mask on will not be allowed to ride the bus.    Food delivery for students who are continue remote learning from home will continue to receive their daily deliveries at the normal times. 

Technology:  Students will be required to bring their laptops to and from school each day.  Students will need their school issued laptop to participate in their in person remote learning while they are at Laraway and will need to take the laptop home with them to complete any and all homework or assignments issued to them.  Student are responsible for charging their laptops each night at home and must bring their laptop to school in the morning fully charged.   Charging stations will be available through out the day.  Personal computers should not be brought to school and they will not be allowed.  If a student needs a school issued Chromebook one will be provided. 

Dress Code:  Student who are attending in person remote learning will be required to be in uniform. 

An abbreviated version of the school dress code is listed below: 

Male Students:           

Navy blue, black, or khaki/beige slacks; light blue or navy blue button-down or pullover shirt with no logos (short or long sleeves with a collar); blue, black, or white socks; dark-colored loafers, dress shoes, or all black gym shoes (no multi-colored shoes, boots or gym shoes); solid navy blue or light blue sweater/sweatshirt only (no logo)

Female Students:        Navy blue, black, or khaki/beige skirt or split skirt that is at least finger-tip length or navy blue, black, khaki/beige slacks; light blue or navy blue blouse or pullover shirt with no logo (short or long sleeves with a collar); blue, black or white socks or nylons; dark-colored loafers, dress shoes, or all black gym shoes (no multi-colored shoes, gym shoes, boots, or higher than mid-heel dress shoes); solid navy blue or light blue sweater/sweatshirt only (no logo).

A complete dress code policy will be provided to students on October 5^th along with a copy of the Laraway Student Handbook.

Supplies: Student are allowed to bring their own backpacks and school supplies with them to school.  Students will not have access to lockers so they will need to keep their school supplies with them at their desk or in their book bag.  Students are not allowed to share any school supplies. If a student does not have a necessary supply the district will provide the student(s) with the supplies that they need. 

Breakfast/Lunch:  Students who attend in person remote learning will be provided a breakfast upon their arrival.  The students will have time to eat their breakfast. Student will be provided with the opportunity to ensure they have practiced proper hand hygiene and they will have access to hand sanitizing stations at all times through out the day.  Students will not have to wear a mask during breakfast but will have to maintaining a safe social distance from everyone around them.  Once breakfast has concluded the students must put their mask back on.  Student will be provided a take home lunch upon dismissal.  These lunches should not be opened on the bus and can be eaten upon their arrival home. 

Water bottles: Student will be able to bring water bottles and refillable non-glass containers to have water through out the day.  Our drinking fountains are turned off but our bottle filling stations are still fully functioning.  Students will have access to the filling stations though out the day. 

Safety: Safety is our top priority.  Student will be required to wear a mask and keep a mask on at all times.  Mask will be worn on the bus and in the building at all times even when social distancing is maintained.  If a student forgets their mask a mask will be provided to the student.  Hand sanitizing station and proper personal protective equipment will be available at all times. The district will be following the CDC and IDPH guidelines for sanitation to ensure all areas of the school have been properly sanitized each and every day.

Espero que esta carta los encuentre a usted y a su familia sanos y seguros. Estamos muy contentos de brindarles a los estudiantes una oportunidad de aprendizaje remoto en persona aquí en Laraway School. Quiero tomar un momento para compartir alguna información con usted que se necesita, con el fin de preparar a su hijo para su retorno a Laraway a partir del 5 de octubre.

Horario diario:  los estudiantes continuarán siguiendo su horario diario de aprendizaje remoto. La escuela comenzará a las 8:05 am y terminará a la 1:05 pm. Los estudiantes asistirán a sus sesiones diarias en el salón de clases de Google con los mismos maestros que han tenido desde el comienzo del año escolar. 

Transporte: En este momento, no hay cambios en los horarios de recogida de transporte de la mañana. Los estudiantes que asistan al aprendizaje remoto en persona serán recogidos en la parada de autobús designada que se les dio para recoger su comida y otros materiales. Los estudiantes deben reportarse a estas paradas de autobús antes de la hora designada para recogerlos para asegurarse de que no pierdan el autobús. Los estudiantes al final del día comenzarán a subir a los autobuses después de la 1:05 pm y partirán de Laraway a más tardar a la 1:10. El tiempo de regreso de los estudiantes a sus hogares variará. Los estudiantes que viajen en el autobús tendrán asientos asignados para asegurarse de que estén socialmente distanciados entre sí. Se requerirá que el estudiante tome la temperatura antes de abordar el autobús. Tecnología:  Se requerirá que los estudiantes traigan sus computadoras portátiles hacia y desde la escuela todos los días. Los estudiantes necesitarán su computadora portátil proporcionada por la escuela para participar en su aprendizaje remoto en persona mientras estén en Laraway y deberán llevarse la computadora portátil a casa para completar todas y cada una de las tareas o asignaciones que se les hayan asignado. Los estudiantes son responsables de cargar sus computadoras portátiles cada noche en casa y deben traer su computadora portátil a la escuela por la mañana completamente cargada. Las estaciones de carga estarán disponibles durante todo el día. No se deben traer computadoras personales a la escuela y no se permitirán. Si un estudiante necesita un Chromebook proporcionado por la escuela, se le proporcionará uno. 

Código de vestimenta: Los  estudiantes que asistan al aprendizaje remoto en persona deberán usar uniforme. 

A continuación se incluye una versión abreviada del código de vestimenta escolar: 

Estudiantes varones:           

Pantalones azul marino, negros o caqui / beige; luz azul marino o azul abotonada o camisa jersey sin logos (mangas cortas o largas con un collar); calcetines azules, negros o blancos; mocasines de color oscuro, zapatos de vestir o todos los zapatos de gimnasia negros (no zapatos, botas o zapatos de gimnasia de varios colores); Suéter / sudadera sólido azul marino o azul claro solamente (sin logo)

 Estudiantes femeninas: Falda azul marino, negra o caqui / beige o falda dividida que sea al menos hasta la punta de un dedo o pantalones azul marino, negro, caqui / beige; blusa o pulóver azul claro o azul marino sin logo (mangas cortas o largas con cuello); medias o medias de nylon azules, negras o blancas; mocasines de color oscuro, zapatos de vestir o todos los zapatos de gimnasia negros (no se permiten zapatos multicolores, zapatos de gimnasia, botas o zapatos de vestir de tacón medio); Suéter / sudadera sólido azul marino o azul claro solamente (sin logotipo).

Un código de vestimenta completa se proporcionará a los estudiantes el 5 de octubre  junto con una copia del Manual del Estudiante Laraway.

Suministros: Los estudiantes pueden traer sus propias mochilas y útiles escolares a la escuela. Los estudiantes no tendrán acceso a los casilleros, por lo que deberán llevar sus útiles escolares en su escritorio o en su mochila. Los estudiantes no pueden compartir ningún material escolar. Si un estudiante no tiene el material necesario, el distrito le proporcionará al estudiante los materiales que necesite. 

Desayuno / Almuerzo: Los estudiantes que asistan al aprendizaje remoto en persona recibirán un desayuno a su llegada. Los estudiantes tendrán tiempo para desayunar. Los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de asegurarse de que han practicado una higiene de manos adecuada y de que tendrán acceso a las estaciones de desinfección de manos en todo momento durante el día. Los estudiantes no tendrán que usar una máscara durante el desayuno, pero tendrán que mantener una distancia social segura de todos los que los rodean. Una vez concluido el desayuno, los estudiantes deben volver a ponerse la máscara. El estudiante recibirá un almuerzo para llevar a casa al salir. Estos almuerzos no deben abrirse en el autobús y se pueden comer al llegar a casa. 

Botellas de agua: El estudiante podrá traer botellas de agua y recipientes que no sean de vidrio rellenables para tener agua durante todo el día. Nuestras fuentes de agua potable están apagadas, pero nuestras estaciones de llenado de botellas todavía están funcionando completamente. Los estudiantes tendrán acceso a las estaciones de servicio durante todo el día. 

Seguridad: La seguridad es nuestra máxima prioridad. Se requerirá que el estudiante use una máscara y mantenga una máscara en todo momento. Se usará máscara en el autobús y en el edificio en todo momento, incluso cuando se mantenga el distanciamiento social. Si un estudiante olvida su máscara, se le proporcionará una máscara. La estación de desinfección de manos y el equipo de protección personal adecuado estarán disponibles en todo momento. El distrito seguirá las pautas de saneamiento de CDC e IDPH para garantizar que todas las áreas de la escuela se hayan desinfectado adecuadamente todos los días.
