Communication and Language Access
Laraway CCSD 70C is committed to building strong partnerships with families through meaningful communication. Families of Multilingual Learners have the right to receive important school information in a language they understand.
The district provides language support, including translated materials and interpretation services, to help families fully participate in their child's education.
Communication support may be available for important school information and activities, including:
Registration information
Report cards and academic information
Parent-teacher conferences
Parent meetings and events
Special education meetings and documents
Information from the Multilingual Department
Important school and district notifications
Our goal is to ensure that language is not a barrier to families' involvement in their child's education.
Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC)
Laraway CCSD 70C values the voices and perspectives of our multilingual families. The Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC) provides an opportunity for families, educators, and community members to work together to support multilingual learners and strengthen our multilingual programs.
The BPAC provides families with opportunities to:
Share ideas and feedback about multilingual services
Learn more about programs and resources available to students and families
Participate in planning and supporting family engagement activities
Connect with other multilingual families
Each year, Laraway CCSD 70C provides opportunities for BPAC parent representatives to participate in the Statewide Bilingual Parent Summit, where families can learn, collaborate, and bring back ideas to support our multilingual community.
We serve each child for the purpose of helping reach his or her full potential as a life-long learner.
It is the business of learning that inspires us to teach.
Our ultimate goal is to positively contribute to the betterment of the communities in which WE live.
