Entry and Exit Criteria

Entry and Exit Criteria

Entry into the Multilingual Program

Students are identified for Multilingual Learner services based on information from the Home Language Survey and results from a state-approved English language proficiency assessment.

Students who qualify for services receive support through Laraway CCSD 70C’s Multilingual Program. Placement decisions are based on each student's English language proficiency level, academic needs, and individual learning profile.

Exiting the Multilingual Program

Students continue to receive multilingual services until they demonstrate the level of English language proficiency required by the State of Illinois. Students are assessed annually through the WIDA ACCESS assessment to measure their progress in developing English language skills.

When a student meets the state exit criteria, they transition out of the Multilingual Program. Even after exiting services, student progress continues to be monitored to ensure they are successful academically.

Laraway CCSD 70C remains committed to supporting students throughout their language development journey and ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed.
